Biography
Hi, my name is Max and I am a computational ecologist in the Biodiversity, Ecology, and Conservation Group based at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). I am particularly interested in ecological modeling, with a focus on the spatially explicit nature of most ecological processes.
My research primarily focuses on using spatial patterns to infer underlying ecological processes. I specialize in spatial point pattern analysis, individual-based modeling, and various other computational modeling techniques. This work has fostered my interest in programming, particularly in the R language.
Prior to my current position, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Coastal Ecology and Conservation Lab at the University of Michigan and a PhD student in the Ecosystem Modelling Group at the University of Goettingen.
