Biography
Hi, my name is Max and I am a computational ecologist in the Biodiversity, Ecology, and Conservation Group based at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA). I am interested in ecological modelling and especially considering the spatial explicit characteristics of most ecological processes.
My research is mainly focused on how we can use spatial patterns to infer the underlying ecological processes. In this context, I mostly use spatial point pattern analysis, individual-based modelling and other modeling techniques. Thus, I am always interested in programming, especially in the R language.
Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Coastal Ecology and Conservation Lab based at the University of Michigan, and a PhD student in the Ecosystem Modelling Group based at the University of Goettingen.
